DETAILED OVERVUE:

The RuffNeck offers exceptional durability at a price that meets any budget.

The RuffNeck is a "Fixed Height" pole system constructed of 4 1/2" O.D. galvanized schedule 40 tubing. The direct rim mount design allows the rim to be mounted through the backboard and into the post, eliminating backboard stress. The backboard is further supported by two tubular braces fixed to the neck of the post.

Our unique "nose-cone" backboard mounting design makes backboard installation simple.

First Team offers a wide variety of backboard & rim styles on the RuffNeck system, allowing you to select the perfect RuffNeck package for your application.

Every RuffNeck package comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Questions & Answers about RuffNeck™ Fixed Height Basketball Goal:

For a town park with unsupervised public access, would you recommend an acrylic backboard or tempered glass?

Definitely acrylic if unsupervised public access. Tempered glass is particularly susceptible to vandalism.

Is there a bracket that goes between FT270 Aluminum Basketball Backboard and FT1900BC Braces Only and the 4-1/2" brace?

There is a "Ruffneck nosecone" that connect the FT270 backboard to the 4.5" OD Ruffneck post. Also, there is a 'Ruffneck T-Clamp & U-Bolt" that connects the FT1900BC braces to the neck of the Ruffneck post.

How do I install the braces on RuffNeck Flight or Max backboards?

Loosely attach them to the backboard, then grab the opposite end of the brace and move it into position, the brace will bend on its own. You will NOT use the welded tab for attachment, instead the brace connects to the same bolt the clamps use.

What is the difference between FT1900NC and FT1900BC?

The FT1900NC is a nose cone kit that is designed to slip over the end of a 4 1/2 inch OD gooseneck basketball post that allows the backboard to connect to the post. The FT1900BC is braces only.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

All First Team soccer and volleyball products are warranted against manufacturers defects at time of delivery. Additionally, First Team warranties most products to the original retail customer for a given period of time as stated in the literature. Below is an explanation of First Team's Limited Warranty for soccer and volleyball products. Any First Team warranty is granted solely to the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable to any subsequent owner, lessee, or acquirer of the product. The warranty terminates automatically upon any resale or transfer of the product.

Limited Warranty:

Covers damage or failure that occurs during the course of "normal or intended use" of the product. Normal or intended use of the product shall be described as activity that is necessary for the participation in the sport for which the equipment is designed. Malicious or deliberate damage caused by vandalism is not covered under First Team's Limited Warranty.

Superior Warranty:

Covers any damage or failure caused by any type of soccer activity, contact with tthe unit or associated use of the product. "Associated use" of the product includes but not is not limited to transport of portable goals.

Any normal wear and tear caused by weathering or UV exposure is not covered under any First Team warranty. All painted items carry a one year limited warranty on coating.
